Air Cadets raise money for Comic Relief

On Friday 16th March 2007, Air Cadets from Castleford held a special non-uniform night to raise money for Comic Relief. Events were held throughout the duration of the night, these included “Beanomania” - a baked bean eating

competition where cadets had to eat as many beans as they could within a minute using only a cocktail stick. There was also a Table Tennis Tournament and Twister Competition played during the evening as well as Face Painting. Finally there was a “Pie-Face” event which allowed cadets to pie Staff member’s faces. The night was thoroughly enjoyable and successful evening and everybody helped in raising a considerable amount of money for Comic Relief.

The squadron are currently in the middle of a recruitment campaign for adult volunteers to train and to take part in such activities. Also the squadron would welcome any young person aged over 13 to come and see the exciting opportunities on offer. Castleford Air Cadets our located in the T.A compound opposite the Civic Centre, they meet 7:00pm – 9:15pm on a Monday and Friday.
