Castleford Air Cadets help celebrate Civic Trust 35th Birthday

 

Castleford Air Cadets formed a guard of honour at Castleford’s All Saints’ Parish church, to celebrate The Castleford Civic Trust’s 35th birthday. Many dignitaries including; the Mayor’s of Castleford, Wakefield, South Elmsall and Normanton were in attendance, who commented on the smartness of the cadets. The Chairwomen of the Trust commented during the service “It’s wonderful to have so many youngsters involved in our celebrations as we are all getting on bit now. We wish them the best of luck and hope our paths will cross again in the future.”

Flight Lieutenant Jamie Williamson, commanding officer of Castleford Air Cadets said “The cadet’s love a parade and we are happy to support our local community. We feel it’s important to support local organisations in their events as part of our citizenship training. Our young people represent Castleford's finest youth and we are very proud of them”

The squadron are currently in the middle of a recruitment campaign for adult volunteers to train and to take part in such activities.  Also the squadron would welcome any young person aged over 13 to come and see the exciting opportunities on offer. Castleford Air Cadets our located in the T.A compound opposite the Civic Centre, they meet 7:00pm – 9:15pm on a Monday and Friday.
