Cadets Pack Shopping Bags Military Style

 

Recently Air Cadets from Castleford Squadron gave up there weekend to help customers at a local supermarket pack there shopping bags. The team of cadets worked in shifts between 9am – 5am with the aim of raising money for the squadron to buy a new mini-bus to take the Cadets to activities. The Cadets raised a massive £1225.74 all donated by members of the public to the squadron which is a registered charity. One shopper commented while having her shopping bags packed by some cadets “Those young people are a credit to the area, there so smart and well mannered”

Flight Lieutenant Jamie Williamson, the commanding officer of the squadron commented “We are very grateful to Sainsbury's as registered charities the funds we raise while bag packing are our life blood. The funds we go to providing a new minibus so we can take the cadets on activities such as; flying gliding, adventure training and community work etc”
