FAQ'sQ - What are the Air Cadets? A - We are an organization for both male and female youths between 13 to 20 years of age. The purpose of the cadet squadron is to develop youth leadership and promote physical fitness and active citizenship. Q - Why should I join cadets? A - Your will learn about flying (power & gliding), survival, teamwork and much more. You will make new friends and experience new, exciting and challenging adventures. Q- Does this mean I will have to join the R.A.F? A - Absolutely not. This is a civilian organization which fosters your leadership, physical fitness and active citizenship, with the assistance of R.A.F personnel. Q - What does it cost to join? A - Its free to join, but after about a month when your given your uniform, we ask you to pay subs of £10 pounds a month. Q - Can I learn how to fly? A - Yes, but not everyone gets to learn. The ones who pass medical and written exams qualify for flying and gliding scholarships. But most people do get to participate in some gliding and air experience flying. Q - Do you have to pay for Camps? A - Yes, there may be a small cost to cover the transport and food while there. |
