Annual Camps

Every year cadets at 2388 (Castleford) have the opportunity to attend annual camp at an RAF base. This is run during the summer, and gives cadets the opportunity to sample all aspects of RAF life. Activities include Flying, Gliding, Shooting, Drill, Team building and Social activities, as well as the chance to visit different RAF sections. Going on camp is one of the most enjoyable things you get to do as a cadet.

There is also a camp that is run at wing level which is held at Beckingham. This is often a great chance to meet other cadets from all over South and West Yorkshire Wing, and usually consists of Shooting, Field craft, Adventure Training and day excursions off camp.

In addition to UK camps there are opportunities to travel overseas to Gibraltar, Germany, and Cyprus. Cadets also have the opportunity to go overseas on other courses such as skiing, winter skills and International Air Cadet Exchanges. Back in the UK, there are also opportunities to go parachuting, micro-lighting, hang gliding or on community sports leaders courses – all run by experts from the RAF.
